Mrs. Sutapa Chakraborty and Keertika are one and the same.

She has also been instrumental in coordination of government sponsored and NGO-run networking and liaison-building initiatives and other autonomous and constituted bodies/agencies with more than two decades’ interactions with and close handling of project and programme-related matters concerning the following: Department of Social and Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal; the Directorate of Correctional Services, Govt. of West Bengal; West Bengal Commission for Women; Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of West Bengal.

Her Areas of Specialization (Women’s Right Endeavors)

  • Rights and entitlements of women inmates, including non-criminal lunatics, of correctional homes; victims of domestic violence and other forms of sexual abuse, assault and harassment of women and girl children

  • Rights and entitlements of physically challenged persons with a special focus on differently abled women and girls

  • Rights and entitlements of persons suffering from and potentially exposed to HIV/AIDS

  • Entitlements of exploited and oppressed women’s rights to property

  • Entitlements of women’s rights to safe environment and accountable governance (right to information)

Areas of Specialization (Civil Society Work-General)

  • Planning, supervision and monitoring of NGO-run service delivery projects /programmes.

  • Planning, supervision and monitoring of NGO-run capacity-building, awareness-generating and advocacy-oriented projects/programmes.

  • Participation in and coordination of government sponsored and NGO-run networking and liaison-building initiatives and other autonomous and constituted bodies/agencies.   • Administration and supervision of a short-stay shelter for abused and trafficked girl children under a Hope Foundation-funded project.
